We love eating at the Tapps Island Lakeside Grill. Always welcoming and the food is delicious. Happy hour everyday is the best and you can't beat the view.
I really like this place primarily because of the convenience, as I am a resident. But it is also the closest decent sit-down place for many that don't live on the island. They have done a lot of work recently including remodeling the place, firing the cook, and revamping the menu, so take reviews more than 2 years old with a grain of salt. The location is great and the view amazing. It is fun to watch people tee off from the first hole. Food is Just OK, they get most of everything from Sysco so not much to work with there. They do have some folks passionate about food however and often offer something with a more homey feel.
We had dinner at lakeside grill on a sunny evening, they have patio tables outside, it was perfect time to have dinner outside and enjoy the sunshine. We loved the garlic fries, they have a decent menu. the view is great, you can see the lake and rainier right outside the restaurant. they have a little golf trail by the restaurant and a playground that our kids enjoyed after dinner. I am taking one star away just because the place is really pretty but the inside of the restaurant is outdated for this kind of place, the serveware were old and dirty for my preference. For this kind of view, they would be a hit if they did a renovation. You can see million dollar houses on the lake but inside the restaraunt, looks like a cheap fast food place. Turn off for me , would only go here for the patio dining.
The quality of the food is good as well as the service. It's an excellent place to get a quick bite to eat. The view of Mt. Rainer is amazing there. You won't get a view like that anywhere else in Lake Tapps! (Check out the photo I posted. It was taken last summer!)
Really friendly staff and great food complement the scenic views of this great restaurant. The portions are big and so is the value - we just had 5 adults meet for lunch there and the bill was only about $40. Great for families or for a beer after work. The pizzas and wraps are my favorites.
